DONTLOOKATME
A work about blood and living in a female body. There are 30 pages in total—a full cycle bound by covers clothed in chamois. The clean, blueish white of the chamois deceptively hides its almost skin-like texture. Sterile front pages give way to a messy interior of loose threads, patchy ink and capitalized words. Embossed on paper towels and bound with embroidery thread, the book feels incredibly fragile to hold. It can be read from both ends, retreating into itself as the printed red circles fade towards the center. The cross on the front was originally conceived as the lower half of the female gender symbol, but once isolated from the top ring, it takes on both religious and medical symbolism.
