Born and raised in Singapore, Exyl graduated from the Film/Animation/Video programme at Rhode Island School of Design. They make films about people who love each other and people who hate each other.

They are interested in hanging out.

Their films have shown at Slamdance, Singapore International Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, Encounters, San Diego Underground, Linoleum and more. They were awarded the Terry Schwartz Award at Ann Arbor Film Festival in 2023.

They were an Ox-Bow Fellow in 2023, are a current FSC-Harvard Fellow, and are currently living as an artist in residence at the Dirt Palace in Providence, RI.
